Draw a Larger-than-Life Festival Character

In this one hour workshop, both parent/carer and child (age 10+) will get a taste of figure drawing. Participants will be drawing from an extravagantly costumed model, with theatrical poses inspired by the festival site. Young artists will require lots of collective energy, as they perform quick drawing exercises and ask the life model to respond to their directions through poses and movement. The group will have the opportunity to work on drawings that examine the figure in motion, translating movement into vibrant marks on the page.

Adult workshops:

Tuesday 23rd August: 6pm - 7.30pm and 8pm - 9.30pm

Wednesday 24th August: 6pm - 7.30pm and 8pm - 9.30pm

Drawing Movement and Mind

This short workshop will use the principles of Yoga and Mindfulness to show that we can also draw, move and breathe from an ever deeper place within. We may discover that a peaceful quality arises then, which flows in our drawings and our experience of the moment. The workshop will start on the floor with a Yoga warm-up to open, ground and undo tension, and a short meditation to unlock focus, attentiveness, and creativity. This will be followed by some short drawings from the life model – making new connections between the model and ourselves, whilst letting go of our inner critic so we can find more playfulness and enjoy the challenge of the drawing process. Try to join on time to get the most out of this class!
